📚 CTE In Action 🛠️
Each Friday in February, we’re showcasing classroom projects that bring Career & Technical Education to life. These CTE in Action highlights feature the creativity, skill, and problem-solving students develop through hands-on learning.
Mr. Halsey’s Medical Detectives class gives students the opportunity to explore biomedical sciences through hands-on investigations and real-world problem solving. Throughout the course, students study vital signs, human body systems, disease diagnosis, and genetic testing while learning about careers in the medical field. In one recent project, students collected bacteria samples from locations of their choosing and analyzed their findings in the lab. They then compared results and created posters to showcase what their samples revealed, practicing the same observation and analysis skills used by real-world medical professionals. Projects like this help students build scientific thinking and gain insight into the exciting possibilities within the healthcare and biomedical fields.
