Albany County School District #1 -

The Albany County School Board met on Wednesday, May 13 2026, and approved the following personnel recommendations, program actions, business items, and policy changes:

• Personnel Recommendations: The School Board reviewed and approved the monthly personnel actions including resignations, retirements, extra duty assignments, additional duties, classified appointments, and certified appointments.

• School District Business Items and Bids

  • Monthly Financial Reports

  • Federal and State Grants Financial Report.

  • Donations:

    • The School Board approved a $1,000 donation from McDonalds to Slade Elementary.

• 2026-2027 Preliminary Budget and Salary Schedules: The School Board approved the 2026-2027 preliminary budget and salary schedules.

• Abre: The School Board did not approve a one year contract with Abre, a K-12 data solution software provider.

• Purchase Offer for 1212 Baker St. (“Old Slade”): The School Board voted to accept the purchase offer from the City of Laramie.

• Purchase Offer for Laramie Athletic Fields: The School Board voted to accept the purchase offer for the Laramie Athletic Field.

• Consideration of Offer to Purchase Property: The School Board voted to authorize the submission of an offer to purchase property, subject to terms and conditions acceptable to the District.

• Policies Approved on First Reading:

  • Draft Policy 4025: Student Use of Cellular Telephones and Smart Devices

  • Draft Policy 2035: Capitalization and Inventory

• Policies Approved on Second Reading:

  • Draft Policy 2001: Finance and Accounting

• Policies Adopted on Third Reading:

  • Draft Policy 2016: Federal Fund Monies

  • Draft Policy 7003: School, Parent, Family, and Community Engagement

In addition to the approval of programs, policies, and bids, the School Board heard the following presentations and recognitions:

• Presentations:

  • The ACSD#1 Extensions Team presented their work during quarter four at Spring Creek Elementary.

• Recognitions:

  • The School Board recognized the sponsors who have contributed and supported the 2026 Project Graduation.

  • 

  • Students from Laramie Middle School, Indian Paintbrush Elementary, Spring Creek Elementary, and Slade Elementary were recognized for their success in the Battle of the Books Competition.
