LARAMIE, Wyo. (May 12 2026) – Aimee Gray, a Secondary Physical Education and Health Teacher at Albany County School District #1, was named the 2026 ACSD#1 Teacher of the Year during the District staff recognition ceremony held Thursday, May 7. Gray was first selected as Teacher of the Year for Whiting High School, automatically qualifying her for consideration at the district level.
Known for her dedication, compassion, and ability to connect with students, Gray has made a transformative impact on the students she serves. Through her Physical Education and Health classes, she creates a safe and welcoming environment where students feel respected, supported, and capable of success. Colleagues describe her as an educator who meets students where they are while encouraging them to grow beyond what they thought possible.
Gray is also recognized for balancing strong academic and health standards with activities that reflect student interests. She encourages students to build resilience, discipline, and lifelong healthy habits while creating an environment students genuinely want to be part of. One student, despite not being enrolled in her course, regularly attended class simply because they wanted to participate, a testament to the positive culture she has created.
Congratulations, Aimee Gray, on being named the 2026 ACSD#1 Teacher of the Year!
