School Board Update

The Albany County School Board met on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 and approved the following personnel recommendations, program actions, business items, and policy changes:

  • Personnel Recommendations: The School Board reviewed and approved the monthly personnel actions including resignations, retirements, extra duty assignments, additional duties, classified appointments, and certified appointments.

  • School District Business Items and Bids:

    • Monthly Financial Reports.

    • Federal and State Grants Financial Report.

    • Bids:

      • The School Board approved a bid from Dave Loden Construction in the amount of $719,885 for the Indian Paintbrush Roof Project.

      • The School Board approved a bid from Big Horn Roofing in the amount of $265,300 for the Whiting High School Roof Project.

      • The School Board approved a bid from Superior Roofing in the amount of $706,699 for the Beitel Elementary Roof Project.

      • The School Board approved a bid from Bobcat of the Rockies in the amount of $64,999.99 for a Wheeled Skid Loader.

      • The School Board approved a bid from Plan One Architect in the amount of $195,950 for Beitel Design Services.

      • The School Board approved a bid from Carpet One Commercial Flooring of Laramie in the amount of $103,950 for the Beitel Carpet Replacement Project.

      • The School Board approved a bid from Dory and Sons Painting in the amount of $78,638 for the Beitel Paint Project.

      • The School Board approved funds for Retro Commissioning of LHS HVAC System to Engineering Design Associates for $189,930.00.

    • Donations:

      • The School Board approved a $1,000 donation from Rib and Chop House to the Linford Pay it Forward Fund.

      • The School Board approved a $4,500 donation from Premier Bone and Joint to Laramie High School.

      • The School Board approved a donation of 2,000 mechanical pencils valued at $2,180 to Slade Elementary.

  • Amendment To Professional Service Provider Agreement for Slade Abatement and Demolition: The School Board approved an amendment to the Professional Service Provider Agreement for the old Slade abatement and demolition in the amount of $1,411.85.

  • Incentive Payments for Early Notice of Resignation/Retirement: The School Boad approved the early notice incentive payment for certified employees; $5,000 for retirement, $3,000 for continuing contract employee resignation, and $1,000 for initial contract employee resignation.

  • 2025-2026 Employee Stipends and Salary Adjustments: The School Board approved a one-time stipend for benefited staff, with payments of $2,000 to Certified and Professional Staff and $2,000 to Classified Staff and a $2,500 salary adjustment for Certified and Professional Staff.

  • Rec Mill Applications: The School Board approved the rec mill applications as presented.

  • Policies Approved on First Reading:

  • Policies Approved on Second Reading: No policies were approved on second reading.

  • Policies Adopted on Third Reading:

In addition to the approval of programs, policies, and bids, the School Board heard the following presentations and recognitions:
