The Albany County School Board met on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 and approved the following personnel recommendations, program actions, business items, and policy changes:
Personnel Recommendations: The School Board reviewed and approved the monthly
personnel actions including resignations, retirements, extra duty assignments, additional
duties, classified appointments, and certified appointments.
School District Business Items and Bids:
Monthly Financial Reports.
Federal and State Grants Financial Report.
Bids:
The School Board approved a bid from LB/A in the amount of $28,700 for the Spring Creek Elementary School Roof Design Consultant.
The School Board approved a bid from GW Mechanical, Inc. in the amount of $1,030,300 for the Laramie High School Boiler Refurbishment Project.
The School Board approved cancelling the permission to solicit bids for Central Office design services previously approved on October 8, 2025.
Donations:
The School Board approved a $1,329.75 donation from Laramie Hay Company to the LHS FFA Chapter.
The School Board approved a $2,000 donation from Laurie Dunn & Linda Lamb to the LHS Plainsmen Pantry.
The Board would like to recognize John and Jenna Scozzafava for their generous contribution to the LHS Boys Basketball program to help purchase a shooting machine. Their names were inadvertently omitted from the $10,000 group donation listed on the September 10, 2025, agenda. The Board sincerely appreciates their support and commitment to our students and athletics program.
Authorization of the Sale of District Surplus Real Property: The School Board authorized the resolution as presented, authorizing the sale of District surplus real property. The District shall forgo the competitive bidding process in accordance with Board Policy 2006, “Disposal of Surplus Property,” due to the use of a real estate agent to represent the District in marketing the properties and receiving offers from all interested parties.
Disposition and Sale of Old Slade Elementary Property: The School Board approved the resolution as presented, authorizing the sale of the Old Slade Elementary property. The District shall forgo the competitive bidding process in accordance with Board Policy 2006, “Disposal of Surplus Property,” due to the use of a real estate agent to represent the District in marketing the properties and receiving offers from all interested parties.
Real Estate 1 Property Listing Contracts: The School Board approved the contracts between Albany County School District #1 and JT Walsh, Associate Broker with Real Estate 1 to sell the following properties: Old Slade Elementary, 16.26 acres on N. 15th Street, 509 S. 9th Street, and 1948 Grande Avenue.
Offer to Purchase 1948 Grand Avenue: The School Board did not approve the offer submitted to purchase the 1948 Grand Avenue.
Reschedule July Meetings: The School Board rescheduled the July Work Session to July 8, 2026, and the July Business Meeting to July 15, 2026.
