LARAMIE, Wyo. (July 16 2025) – On Wednesday, July 16th, the ACSD#1 School Board of Trustees appointed Sophia Gomelsky as the new Trustee. The search for applicants began in late June after Trustee Alex Krassin announced her resignation during the June business meeting, which left a vacant seat that needed to be filled.
Those interested in joining the Board were asked to submit a letter of interest. Current School Board Trustees convened to select three candidates who would then participate in a public interview. These interviews were conducted during a special meeting on July 16th, where the Board voted to appoint Sophia Gomelsky as its newest member.
Sophia is a lifelong resident of Laramie and is pursuing a degree in political science. Her impressive resume reflects her dedication to youth advocacy and public policy. She has expressed a strong commitment to ensuring that every student in our district has access to a high-quality and supportive learning environment. Sophia will serve until November 30, 2026.
