School Board Update

The Albany County School Board met on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 and approved the following personnel recommendations, program actions, business items, and policy changes:

  • Personnel Recommendations: The School Board reviewed and approved the monthly

    personnel actions including resignations, retirements, extra duty assignments, additional

    duties, classified appointments, and certified appointments.

  • School District Business Items and Bids:

    • Personnel Appointments: The School Board approved the appointment of Steve Slyman as Interim Assistant Superintendent and Shelley Hamel as the Interim Chief Student Advocacy Officer.

    • Monthly Financial Reports.

    • Federal and State Grants Financial Report.

    • Donations:

      • The School Board approved a $2,000 donation from the Tour de Wyoming to Rock River School.

      • The School Board approved a $3,000 donation from Knights of Pythias Damon Lodge No. 3 to the LHS FFA Chapter.

      • The School Board approved a $2,000 donation from Browns Hill Engineering to the LHS FCCLA Chapter.

  • Request for Proposals for Real Estate Brokerage Services: The School Board approved the request for proposals to be advertised for real estate brokerage services for the marketing and sale of district-owned property.

  • Policies Approved on First Reading:

  • Policies Approved on Second Reading: No policies were approved on second reading.

  • Policies Adopted on Third Reading:

  • Policies Reviewed: No policies were reviewed.
