Dear ACSD#1 Families:

Albany County continues to have “moderate to high” levels of COVID-19 transmission, so the school district will continue to ask students and staff who have COVID-19 like symptoms to quarantine for 10 days or consult a physician to obtain a Negative COVID-19 PCR test in order to return to school.

Local and State Health Officials continue to express caution and remind us that our current mitigation strategies are working.  Health officials ask our community to continue to maintain a 6-foot physical distance, wear face coverings, and practice frequent hand washing.

Albany County Health and Ivinson Memorial Hospital have started COVID-19 Vaccinations, and we are hopeful that school district employees will be offered the vaccination in the near future.  The Wyoming Department of Health website provides information about the status of vaccinations in Albany County, and the Ivinson Memorial Hospital website provides specific information to guide our community on the distribution and release of the COVID-19 vaccination.

After declining for the past few weeks, we anticipate that COVID-19 cases will increase in the near future. The school board and administration will continue to monitor the level of transmission in our community, but we are hopeful that the vaccination may present another mitigating strategy that will ensure the safety of our students and staff.

We will have to remain diligent during the next few weeks to ensure that positive cases in the community do not reach the levels we experienced in November and December.  I appreciate the effort of our students, families, and staff who continue to take precautions to minimize the risk of exposure to the coronavirus.
