ACSD#1 Illness Policy

Per the district's health standard, if your student is sick (COVID-19 or non-COVID-19), please keep them at home until they have been fever free for 24 hours without the use of medication and their symptoms are resolving.

Many kids can be sick and not run a fever, a good rule of thumb is to keep them home until they can make it through a whole school day.

If your student tests positive for COVID-19:

We continue to recommend to all parents to follow the current CDC and Wyoming Department of Health guidelines when your student tests positive for COVID-19. It is recommended that a positive student isolate at home for 5 days and mask for another 5 days while at school.

Comprehensive guidance can be found herehttps://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/your-health/isolation.html

If your student has been in contact with someone who has COVID-19:

Students exposed to a COVID-19 positive person do not need to stay home. They are welcome to be at school as long as they have no illness symptoms. If they show symptoms, it is recommended to have them tested. If you do not want to test them we ask that you follow the ACSD1 illness policy.

Please contact your school nurse with any questions or concerns.
