At Albany County School District we value the importance of early experiences for young children and know that access to high-quality early education can create the necessary foundation for future learning and development.

This year we will be multiple program structures including both full day (at Linford Elementary ) and half-day preschool classes (at Slade Elementary). Because we have limited enrollment, children will be admitted based on the Title 1 qualification criteria, with priority being given to qualifying families and children (please see application linked below).

• Children must be 4 years old by August 1, 2024 (with the intent to enroll in kindergarten next year)

• They must be fully potty-trained. Please note: This means they practice independence in the restroom and includes being able to zip/button and unzip/unbutton their clothing, cleaning themselves properly, and washing hands.

• Provide a Birth Certificate and Immunization Record

• Children must be dropped off and picked up at the preschool classroom by their guardian or other designated family member within 15 minutes of start and end times.

• *Acceptance into the program will be based on Title I qualification criteria outlined in the ACSD #1 application form. *

August 2: ACSD#1 Preschool Application Due along with the REQUIRED federal free and reduced lunch application.

August 12: Your family will be notified of your application status no later than August 12.

At this time, you will either receive your classroom placement, be placed on a waitlist, or be notified that you are unqualified for our preschool programming and be provided other preschool options in our community.

August 26: First Day of School

Linford Elementary - 8:00-1:00PM Monday-Friday

Slade Elementary - 8:00-10:30AM Monday- Friday

Slade Elementary - 12:00-3:05 Monday- Thursday
