Want Support This Holiday Season?
We can help connect families with resources including clothing, food pantry items, holiday meals, and holiday gifts. Some application deadlines are coming up soon, so please don't wait!
Backpack program- if your family wants help with food at home, please sign up for the backpack program to get backpacks sent home with your students on the last day of school each week (usually Thursdays). Email gsigel-herdt@acsd1.org to get on the list!
Coats for Kids- Does your student want a winter coat? We can get them for you. Email gsigel-herdt@acsd1.org
Christmas for Kids- This completed form is DUE BY NOVEMBER 10th 2026. GIFTS WILL BE DELIVERED LAST WEEK OF SCHOOL to the school and counselor YOU put down as your referring school and counselor.
The deadline to sign up for a Thanksgiving basket is Friday, October 30th. No late sign-ups will be accepted this year. Baskets will be distributed on Saturday, November 14th, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at The Toolbox (2000 S 15th St, Laramie, WY).
Upcoming Student Opportunities
Students will have the opportunity to attend the Future Focused Fair at the University of Wyoming on October 27. This event helps students explore transition services, self-advocacy, future planning, postsecondary options, and community resources.
Students can also explore career pathways at EWC Tech Day on Wednesday, November 4th from 9:00am-12:30pm in Torrington. Here they can learn about programs such as healthcare, welding, cosmetology, education, veterinary technology, agriculture, and more.
We've also welcomed several community guest speakers to discuss their careers and career pathways. Students recently learned about Job Corps as another option for education, training, and employment. Ask your student what they've been learning!
