This is a friendly reminder that juniors have ACT testing day at Whiting tomorrow, Tuesday, April 7. Per Wyoming state requirements, all juniors are required to complete the ACT.
Arrival Time: Students MUST arrive at school no later than 8:20 as testing starts promptly at 8:30.
Promptness is Critical: Due to strict testing security and protocols, we cannot permit late arrivals to enter the testing room once the session has begun. Please ensure your student arrives on time to avoid missing this important test.
Stay the Whole Day: Students cannot leave early or they risk invalidating their test or not completing the test.
Start Time and Dismissal: Arrival time and dismissal time will be true for all junior students regardless of class schedules on other days. Testing protocols for the ACT are strict and no exceptions will be made for late start or early dismissals.
Cell Phones: Cell phones will not be permitted in the testing room. They will be collected prior to entering the testing room. Cellphones will be locked in a secure box in the main office. They will be given back during lunch and at the end of the day when everyone is excused after testing. Cell phones cannot be used between tests.
Breaks: Breaks are strictly monitored and timed. Use of cell phones and leaving the building is not permitted during breaks.
Student Testing Manual: All testing students have received a Student Manual with vital information about taking the test. Please review for specific questions. https://www.act.org/content/dam/act/secured/documents/TakingTheACT-StateandDistrict.pdf
IEP Accommodations: If your students receives IEP accommodations for testing, they will be provided. If the accommodations include extended time, test times may vary. You will be contacted if your child is dismissed later than 1:00 due to extended time.
For All Other Students (Non-Testers):
April 7 will be a Virtual Learning Day.
Students will not report to the building and should instead log on to their computers to complete their scheduled virtual classes. Attendance will be taken based on completion of the assigned task for the class.
