Slade was honored to have Senator John Barrasso stop by our school. He spoke in person with 4th and 5th grade students as the rest of the school zoomed into the assembly.

Senator Barrasso talked about the importance of education and the opportunities the Hathaway scholarship provides for Wyoming students. Slade 4th and 5th graders had the opportunity to ask the senator questions like, “What presidents have you worked with and what is something interesting about them?” and “What made you decide to stop being a doctor and become a senator?”

Senator Barrasso also congratulated Slade on earning the National Blue Ribbon School Award and stressed the importance of having high quality teachers who believe in students.

Finally, Senator Barrasso took time to take photographs with Slade staff including this photo with Principal Moro in front of the flag the senator had flown over the U.S. Capitol in Slade’s honor.
