Ms. Taucher was born and raised in Casper, Wyoming. Her mom was a secretary and her dad worked at a savings and loan bank. She has three older brothers who are now scattered across the country. When she was a teenager, her parents purchased some mountain property in Montana where they spent many wonderful summers building their family cabin. It is still where everyone comes together for some relaxation and quality family time.

Ms. Taucher studied geology at the University of Montana and then went on to work as a geologist in Casper, Wyoming, which is where she met her husband who is also a geologist. They then moved back to Laramie and Ms. Taucher returned to school earning her teaching degree at the University of Wyoming. In 1991, she began working at Harmony Elementary School and it has been her dream job ever since.

Mr. Green

2nd and 3rd Grade Teacher

Mr. Green was born in Europe to a father who was a Master Sargent in the U.S. Air Force. Therefore at an early age, he was granted a wonderful opportunity to travel throughout the continent. However, since his father was in the military, his family eventually transferred to the Francis E. Warren Air Force Base located in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Mr. Green continued his studies in Cheyenne as a third grader and later graduated from the local high school.

In 2005, Mr. Green moved to Laramie, Wyoming to pursue his collegiate career. Four years later, he graduated from the University of Wyoming with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. Mr. Green then started teaching as a paraprofessional for two years in addition to teaching first grade part-time. In time, Mr. Green became a full-time teacher at the Centennial Valley School instructing second, third, and fourth grade. He continued teaching at Centennial for two more years until he transferred to Harmony Elementary School where he continues to teach second and third grade today.

Ms. Amen-Peterson

4th and 5th Grade Teacher

Ms. Amen had always debated between wanting to be an author of children’s books or a teacher. She has not yet written her first book. However, she learned the art of teaching at the University of Wyoming. After student teaching in Douglas, Wyoming, Ms. Amen graduated in 1988 and set off to begin her teaching career at Linford Elementary in the ACSD #1. She later taught at Beitel Elementary in addition to Thayer Elementary as well. Then after three years, she took some time to work from home and raise her children.

In 2000, Ms. Amen returned to teaching at the St. Laurence School in Laramie, Wyoming, and six years later, she leaped at the opportunity to teach at Harmony Elementary School after she always desired to work within a rural community. Although, she has taught most grades, Ms. Amen enjoys teaching upper elementary the most because the students have a unique eagerness to apply the skills that they have learned in the lower grades. Ms. Amen enjoys focusing her students’ attention on their individual interests, which continues to motivate and encourage them at higher educational levels.

Ms. Reed has worked as a Special Education teacher for the ACSD #1 since 2005. During her tenure, she has worked at many different schools throughout the district, including: Harmony Elementary School, Laramie Middle School, Laramie High School, Centennial Valley School, Valley View, Beitel Elementary, and the Snowy Range Academy. She enjoys spending time with her family, fishing, hunting, and camping.

Ms. Landstrom

Ms. Landstrom is thrilled to be our new art teacher at Harmony Elementary School. She was born and raised in Wyoming and in 2017 she graduated from the University of Wyoming. For the past two years, Ms. Landstrom has taught art at the Grand Valley High School in Parachute, Colorado. However, she and her family are so excited to be back in the great state of Wyoming. Ms. Landstrom is fortunate to have an amazing husband, a wonderful son in kindergarten, and two crazy, but loving dogs. She is extremely passionate about creating art, helping students reach their full artistic potential, and having tons of fun in her classroom. Ms. Landstrom cannot wait to make this an amazing year for all of her new students at Harmony Elementary School.

Ms. Kozlowski

Ms. Kozlowski was born and raised on a farm in Iowa. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Music and Music Education from Clarke College in Dubuque. She then went on to earn her Master’s degree from the University of Iowa. She has 23 years of teaching experience, 12 of which have been at the rural schools in the ACSD #1. She has five children that range in ages from 16 to 28. Her husband, Mr. Kozlowski, is a Wildlife Biologist for the U.S. Forest Service. When she is not teaching, Ms. Kozlowski loves to sing, go for walks, be outside, and knit. However, her favorite pastime by far is spending quality time with her children. She feels very fortunate to be teaching music to the amazing students at Harmony Elementary School, the Centennial Valley School, and Valley View.

Mr. Morrison

Physical Education Teacher

Mr. Morrison is the physical education teacher at Harmony Elementary School. The goal of his class is to teach his students about health and physical activity. He hopes to achieve this by discovering the activities his students enjoy, and then finding ways to motivate them to stay active both in and outside of school. Mr. Morrison wants his students to enjoy what they are learning in his classroom while he helps them to develop their motor skills along the way. He is a very active person himself. He likes to experiment in all different forms of exercise to help broaden his knowledge of physical activity as a whole. In addition to teaching, he also devotes some of his free time to training adults at Altitude Fitness in Laramie. His passion is to find what physical activities resonate with each individual and to help him/her enjoy what he/she are doing to stay healthy. A fun fact about Mr. Morrison is that he used to run track and field for the University of Wyoming. Go Pokes!
