First Day of School

ACSD #1 has embraced the global Kindness Matters campaign as a design to improve our interpersonal interactions. The campaign's message honors Peyton A. James, who took his own life at the age of 13 after years of social abuse. Please visit the website:  www.kindness-matters.org  to learn more about this outstanding movement.

At ACSD #1 we encourage all of our students, parents/guardians, teachers, and staff to prevent bullies by talking about unacceptable social behaviors. Our ultimate aim is to foster a safe school environment, which is conducive to learning. Please visit the website:  www.stopbullying.gov  to acquire the skills to help you teach your children how to STAND UP & SPEAK OUT against bullying.

Your child’s daily and on-time attendance is critical to their success in school. And, while some unforeseen challenges might arise and affect your child’s attendance, it is important to understand the impact of each absence. A student is considered chronically absent if they miss two days of school per month. This amounts to over 18 days within the school year. Missing vital learning activities could consequentially impact your child's ability to keep up with classroom assignments. Please visit the website:  www.attendanceworks.org  to find out how you can take action.
