LARAMIE, Wyo. (August 28, 2024) – Rock River Modern Band music program will soon start to expand. Music teacher, Marcus Stowe, applied and received grant funding from the Wyoming Community Foundation in hopes to receive the means necessary to continue the growth of his program. These funds will be used to purchase new equipment that will allow Mr. Stowe to cater to a larger age group. Over the past five years, Mr. Stowe has been working to build a Modern Band program that focuses on teaching contemporary music using instruments like the guitar, bass, drums and piano. Mr. Stowe has worked to create a K-12 music program that focuses on creativity and culturally responsive pedagogy and he believes the funds received will strengthen the work being done and further create opportunities for students. ACSD#1 would like to express our gratitude to the Wyoming Community Foundation for providing the means necessary for the expansion of Mr. Stowe’s Modern Band music program
